‘All resources to be utilised for welfare of mineworkers’

The number of rescue stations has to be increased or shifted so that the workers can be assured of treatment and medical facilities in any emergency and can be protected from any kind of accidents.
The provincial minister expressed these views while presiding over a departmental meeting in his camp office on Thursday. The meeting discussed risk analysis forecasting, educational institutions, CIM's new initiatives towards digitisation of inspection system, annual development programme of Chief Inspectorate of Mines, rescue recovery operation/procedures, training of mine workers, fatal accident report, and a detailed review of the sample from inception to death grant and implementation of the instructions given in the previous meeting was carried out.
The provincial minister was told during the briefing that the process of geo-tagging of 3,000 mines is in the process of completion, while the system has been made online from August 1. The mineworkers are being given training by the rescuers so that they can deal with any kind of accident, especially to make it possible to save them from gases during the mining of mines, for this they are being provided with gas detectors.
Rescue vehicles are ready round the clock and can reach any accident site in four minutes and later they are admitted to the nearest hospital.
