MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission (KPHCC) on Friday sealed four clinics and served dozens of others with notices for operating without prior approval of the government.
“We have launched a crackdown against such healthcare providers and diagnostic facilities running without licensing across Hazara division,” HCC’s senior inspector, Imtiaz Ali, told reporters here.
A team of HCC led by Imtiaz Ali paid a surprise visit to Mansehra, Baffa-Pakhal, Oghi and Balakot tehsils and sealed four health facilities, which were providing healthcare services to patients without doctors.
“We have served notices on dozens of such facilities running without licenses across the district to ensure patients’ safety and bring to an end illegal practices in the health field,” he added.
Another team member, Inspector Imtiaz Adnan, said that the Commission registered clinics,
medical stores, laboratories and dental clinics running either under medical or homeopathy fields in the province.
“Those healthcare providers, who have been served with notices during the ongoing crackdown, would have to ensure their registration with the Commission within a stipulated period, otherwise, the facilities, which fall in any category, would be sealed permanently,” he added.
