Patients suffer after power cut to DHQ Hospital
MIRANSHAH: The patients and their attendants at the District Headquarters Hospital, Miranshah, are facing the worst kind of situation due to disconnection of power supply to the health facility for the last two days.
Several attendants said that the power supply company had disconnected the electricity to the hospital that had posed a potential threat to their babies in the incubator and wards.
They threatened to register cases against the officials of the power supply company if any untoward incident happened to their patients, particularly children and babies admitted to the hospital. When contacted the officials of the relevant power company in North Waziristan, they said that they had disconnected the electricity supply due to non-payment of bills.
However, officials of the DHQ Hospital said that the company had cut the power supply without any prior notice, which risked the lives of patients, particularly children and infants.
