DEO for meeting enrolment target

JHANG: District Education Officer (Elementary Women) Kausar Nasim Ramay Saturday directed the school heads to meet enrolment target.
Addressing to a special meeting held at district education complex to review enrolment progress and overall performance of schools, the DEO asked DDEOs (EW) of Jhang, Shorkot, Ahmedpur Sial and 18-Hazari and school heads to expedite new admissions of children to get target given by the education department. She urged heads of elementary schools to utilise school funds for general repair of building, cleanliness, whitewash, repair of furniture, etc on priority to attract children and their parents.
The DEO directed them to ensure early purchase of laptops/tablets and the same should be utilised during teaching for enhancing skills of students. She said that NCHD and other allied departments were ready to help school heads and teachers regarding convincing parents about sending their children to schools. She said the enrolment campaign progress would be revived fortnightly. Kausar said teachers promotion, leaves and other service matters were under consideration.
INQUIRY: On the directions of the DCO, Government Girls High School Jhang City’s Senior Headmistress Suryia Chaudhry has been deputed as an inquiry officer to probe the incident in which Government Girls High School Basti Ghazi Shah Bagh’s students had staged a demonstration against their headmistress.
