Strategy unveiled to transform BISP into beacon of hope in battle against poverty

Islamabad:In a compelling address at Usmania Masjid Muzaffarabad, Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, Chairperson of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), articulated a groundbreaking strategy to elevate BISP into an exemplary institution in the ongoing fight against poverty. Stressing the moral duty of serving 93 lakh needy families, Dr. Saqib underscored the collective responsibility of addressing poverty as a form of worship.

Key components of the strategy include emphasizing the linkage of children from needy families to technical skill areas, paving the way for a brighter future. Dr. Saqib proposed the establishment of an endowment fund dedicated to the welfare of needy families, showcasing BISP's commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions.

During his visit to the BISP office in Muzaffarabad, Dr. Amjad Saqib personally engaged with needy women, emphasizing the significance of cleanliness and treating them with dignity. The Zonal Director, Dr. Abdul Aziz Qurashi, and the entire BISP Muzaffarabad Division warmly welcomed Dr. Amjad Saqib, highlighting the program's dedication to empathy and respect.

Dr. Saqib directed the staff to ensure the complete disbursement of payments to needy families without any deductions, emphasizing transparency in collaboration with POS agents for efficient stipend disbursement.

In a call to action, Dr. Amjad Saqib urged BISP employees to collectively contribute to making the program an exemplary institution. He invoked the principles of ‘Mawakhat’, encouraging everyone to uphold core values of compassion and service.

Later, Dr. Amjad Saqib participated as a keynote speaker in a panel discussion on Youth Entrepreneurship, Microfinancing, and Financial Inclusion at the AJK Youth Summit, further emphasizing BISP's commitment to transformative solutions in the battle against poverty.
