LAHORE:On the directions of Commissioner Lahore and DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, LDA teams conducted a mega operation against illegal commercial activities and annual commercialisation fee defaulters at Canal Road, Johar Town, Thokar Niaz Beg, Bhubatian Road and Raiwind Road on Monday.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali. Notices were issued several times to the sealed properties before the operation. During the operation, LDA teams sealed more than 31 properties on Canal Road, Johar Town and Raiwind Road over non-payment of annual commercialisation fee.
Notices were issued to more than six dozen properties located at Thokar Niaz Baig, Bhubtiyan Chowk, Raiwind Road for illegal commercial use. These properties include food points, pharmacies, hotels, restaurants, medical labs, banks, cafes, mobile shops, sentry shops, academies, easy money shops, ice food, solar shops, courier service, studio, pet shops and various other shops.
Meanwhile, as per the directions of the chief minister, significant progress was achieved in the digitisation of LDA records. Digitisation of all the records of Johar Town has been completed. Commissioner Lahore & DG LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited the special cell set up for sifting of LDA records. Director IT Abdul Basit gave a briefing on the progress in the sifting process. Online processing of the cases related to Johar Town was started at LDA One Window Cell.
On Monday, the first application related to Johar Town Scheme was processed online. Application presented by resident of Johar Town scheme regarding building period was processed online, officials said.
