Over Rs14.4m recovered from 564 defaulters
Sajjad Qureshi recovered Rs1.60m from 55 defaulters in Central Circle, Rs1.09m from 30 defaulters in South Circle
LAHORE:The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) in collaboration with Tehsildars (Recovery) has recovered Rs14.4 million from 564 dead defaulters in all the five districts - Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara - on 73rd day of its recovery campaign.
A Lesco spokesman told media here Saturday that on the 73rd day, Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) Zafar Iqbal with the support of Tehsildar City Mujahid Zia and Tehsildar Shalimar Noreez Humayun recovered outstanding dues of Rs1.84 million from 63 defaulters in Northern Circle and Rs2.80 million from 88 defaulters in Eastern Circle respectively. Similarly, Lesco Manager (Material Disposal) Engineer Anwar Watto along with Tehsildar Model Town Rana Arsal and Tehsildar Cant.
Sajjad Qureshi recovered Rs1.60 million from 55 defaulters in Central Circle, and Rs1.09 million from 30 defaulters in South Circle, while Manager (Technical) Engineer M Farooq with the assistance of Tehsildar NankanaSahib M Iqbal Rasheed and Tehsildar Sheikhupura M Aslam Gujjar recovered Rs0.81 million from 51 defaulters in Nankana Circle and Rs2.70 million from 58 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle.
He added that Lesco Manager E&S (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali in collaboration with Naib Tehsildar Kasur and Okara Mirza Zahid Baig recovered outstanding dues of Rs0.89 million from 93 defaulters in Okara Circle and Rs2.73 million from 126 defaulters in Kasur Circle. Up till now during the recovery campaign, the Lesco with the help of Tehsildars (Recovery) recovered more than Rs1.37 billion from 43,914 dead defaulters in its all circles of operation. He elaborated that Lesco recovered outstanding dues of Rs172.87 million from 5,610 defaulters in Northern Circle; Rs335.07 million from 5,643 defaulters in Eastern Circle; Rs191.87 million from 5,328 defaulters in Central Circle; Rs72.20 million from 2,204 defaulters in South Circle, Rs90.79 million from 4,150 defaulters in Nankana Circle; Rs202.66 million from 5,117 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle; Rs86.51 million from 6,496 defaulters in Okara Circle and Rs223.90 million from 9,366 defaulters in Kasur Circle.
For the recovery campaign started on September 13, the Lahore Division’s Commissioner had assigned additional charge of Tehsildar Recovery (from Lesco defaulters) to relevant Tehsidars, while Lesco Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haidar has also designated four senior officers to assist them in the dues recovery from defaulters.
Lesco Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider said that the company is facing loss due to dead defaulters, and vowed to continue action against them.
