LAHORE: A young man's amputated hand was reattached after a successful surgery at CMH, Lahore. A labourer Waqar’s hand was cut off by a machine in Faisalabad at 7:30 in the morning of November 24.
Waqar's family immediately took him to Civil Hospital Faisalabad, which referred the patient to Hand & Upper Limbs Surgery Centre (HULS), CMH Lahore. The patient reached CMH Lahore around 1pm where the doctors started surgery within 15 minutes.
Dr. Khalid Qureshi, Dr. Ataur Rahman, Dr Waheed, Dr. Atif Aziz, Dr. Zeeshan Talib, Dr Shoaib, Dr. Asim, Dr. Usman performed the patient's surgery. A team of doctors connected the patient's bones to the narrow arteries. The patient's hand started bleeding after the operation. HULS provides treatment services of conjoining cut-off hands or fingers. The centre simultaneously provides services of Orthopedic Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Vascular Surgery.
