LAHORE: From Punjab, at least 846 Afghan refugees were repatriated till November 10 after completing all legal formalities and in coordination with KP authorities, The News has learnt.
According to sources, a meeting at the Nacta Headquarters was chaired by Minister of Interior Sarfraz Bugti on Friday in which the implementation of the NAP was reviewed. It was reiterated that no one was allowed to create terror in the country.
It was reported that in Punjab, 16,050 combing operations were conducted against militants and terrorists. At least 3,170 suspects were arrested by law-enforcement agencies (LAEs) and 765,734 were questioned. More than 2,000 cases were registered against terrorists and militants. In Punjab, in 2023, at least 26 cases were registered against terrorist financers. At least 36 suspects were arrested out of whom 11 were convicted. Effective measures were taken against religious/sectarian persecution and terrorism by using social media patrolling or social media monitoring.
At least 18,151 objectionable social media pages were reported to the PTA. As many as 6,629 sites/pages were blocked by the PTA. Six cases were registered against hate-mongers. Eleven suspects were arrested and convicted.
As many as 19,436 seminaries were geo-tagged in Punjab. As many as 7,620 seminaries were found registered and 12,014 un-registered.
