A delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday called on Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders in Bahadurabad to discuss their possible electoral alliance in Sindh and power-sharing after the upcoming general elections.
The PML-N delegation comprised Nehal Hashmi, Ali Akbar Gujjar, Naseeruddin, and others, while the MQM-P was represented by Syed Aminul Haque, Javed Haneef, Khalid Sultan and others.
After the meeting, Haque said a democratic system should be maintained in the country and the MQM-P wanted to strengthen relations with other political parties.
He mentioned that whenever the MQM-P formed an alliance, it was successful, and after the general elections on February 8, the MQM-P and PML-N would form the government together, and their alliance would thwart all conspiracies.
He said the meeting between the two parties was held in in a pleasant environment and both agreed to move forward together. “Our meeting would bring positive results. We want relief for the people of Sindh and urban centres of the province. The 15-year rule of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in which people got nothing apart from suffering should come to an end,” the MQM-P leader remarked.
Speaking on the occasion, PML-N leader Hashmi said both parties would work together as a team. He added that they would contest the elections against the PPP’s corruption in every constituency of Sindh. “We are moving ahead with the vision of Nawaz Sharif,” he said.
