ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to convene a High-Powered Selection Board meeting for the promotion of federal bureaucrats from Grade 21 to Grade 22.
According to sources, this meeting will be held next month under the chairmanship of caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.
Secretary Cabinet Division, Secretary Establishment Division and Prime Minister’s Secretary will participate in the meeting.
In this regard, the Establishment Division has started the homework. According to sources, instructions have been issued to all the cadres to count the vacancies of Grade 22, while December 31 cut-off date for counting vacancies has been fixed.
According to the details of initial panel of officers of various services and groups that the Establishment Division has prepared, there are 46 officers for 5 posts of Grade 22 of Pakistan Administrative Service, 17 officers for 2 posts of Police Service and 2 of Secretariat Group. A panel of 27 officers has been constituted for the posts.
Apart from this, the cases of promotion of Pakistan Audit and Accounts, Foreign Service and FBR officers will also be considered.
The Establishment Division has sent a letter to the Election Commission for holding the meeting. More than 12 officers are likely to be promoted. Earlier, the meeting of the High Powered Selection Board was held in February this year.
