ISLAMABAD: The majority of Americans consider India their close friend in comparison to Pakistan, as revealed in a Gallup Pakistan survey conducted in collaboration with American agencies, in which approximately a thousand Americans participated.
In the survey, 56% of Americans considered India their friend, while 28% considered Pakistan their friend. In contrast, 39% of Americans considered Pakistan their adversary, while 11% considered India their enemy.
The survey also showed that 34% viewed Pakistan negatively, while 32% of Americans refrained from expressing an opinion about India.
The survey noted that the rate of Americans considering India their friend is higher among white Americans, which is 63%, while in the same group, 26% consider Pakistan their friend.
In other American groups, 43% consider India their friend, while 32% consider Pakistan their friend.
When it comes to support for India and Pakistan among Americans based on age, among those over 50 years old, 61% of Americans support India, while 23% of Americans in the same age group show support for Pakistan.
