ISLAMABAD: Ahead of the general elections, it has been decided to rebuild both the cafeterias of Parliament House and equip these with modern facilities to welcome the new guests.
One cafeteria is for Members of Parliament and the other is for Parliament House staff. An interior designer consultant from Lahore has come up with the new design.
According to a minister, this renovation will cost Rs82 million. The kitchen will be newly constructed. All kitchen appliances including cooking ranges, chillers, ice cube trays, coffee makers and crockeries will be purchased anew. The floor will be rebuilt.
The CDA management has sent a summary to the Finance Division for release of special grant for these expenses. The project will be completed immediately after the funds are released.
According to CDA officials, the equipment of both the cafeterias are now worn out and must be replaced.
