LAHORE: Former Prime Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Shehbaz Sharif met former MPs, former ticket holders and party leaders from Gujrat under the leadership of Abid Raza Kotla.
In the meeting, issues related to party organisation and elections were discussed. The party leaders informed the party president about election preparations and arrangements in their areas. Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the spirit of party officials, leaders and workers. He said, “People are satisfied that Quaid Nawaz Sharif has come to take the country out of crisis. The nation suffered inflation, unemployment and economic destruction in four dark years.”
He said that under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, the whole of Pakistan was united. “With the grace of Allah Almighty, Pakistan will develop again; the wheel of industry and trade will run. With the arrival of Nawaz Sharif, hopes of the poor have rekindled again. Under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif, we will move the country from the goal of economic self-reliance,” he added.
Nawabzada Tahir Mulk, Raja Aslam Khan, Nawabzada Ghazanfar Ali Gul, Chaudhry Aleemullah Waraich, Chaudhry Jafar Iqbal and others were part of the delegation.
Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif stressed sustainable and permanent peace in the Middle East. In a statement, he said, “efforts to make the ceasefire a practical step towards a permanent solution are indispensable. A two-state solution is the only sustainable peace and permanent solution to the problem. Sustainable peace is only possible with a settlement of the Palestinian conflict. All resources should be used to help the oppressed Palestinians and treat the injured. A collective arrangement can be devised for the care of orphans.”
