Two ‘RAW agents’ held
Karachi
The Sindh police’s counter-terrorism department said on Saturday that it had arrested two agents of Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in a raid conducted in Thatta and found them in possession of secret documents and pictures of sensitive installations in Karachi.
CTD chief additional IG Sanaullah Abbasi said after receiving intelligence reports that RAW was trying lure Pakistani fishermen into working for them, his department was assigned the task to find them.
The CTD tracked down the location of fishermen working for RAW in Thatta.
A team of the CTD investigation wing conducted a raid and after some resistance, arrested Saddam Hussain alias Roshan and Mohammad Bachal.
The two men were shifted to their investigation unit. During interrogation, they disclosed that they were contacted by RAW officials in Indian territorial waters. They were offered a handsome amount of money and also allowed to fish in Indian waters for information about important installations and other places in Pakistan.
The RAW officials took them to Indian territory via Shah Bundar. A Pakistani fisherman named Mohammad Khan took them to RAW officials Karan and Arjun. Later, they were taken to the Bhoojh police station where they were assigned their task. They were allotted secret codes which they used during conversation with the RAW officials.
The CTD chief said they had found the two men in possession of pictures of Johar Jamali, Fisheries, Dalmia and Karsaz areas of Karachi and those of Pakistan Navy and Coast Guards installations. They also had cell phone numbers of Indian officials.
