Sports science institute set up for training of coaches, players

LAHORE: Sports and Youth Affairs Department Punjab has established Punjab Institute of Sports Science for the international standard training of coaches and players of the province.

In this regard, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Shahid Zaman issued a notification on Wednesday. Deputy Director Chand Parveen will be the Principal in Punjab Institute of Sports Science, M Hafeez Bhatti will be the chief instructor while Shaista Qaiser and Sajid Ali will be the instructors.

Director General Sports Punjab Dr Asif Tufail in a statement on Wednesday said that Punjab Institute of Sports Science was established to train coaches and players according to international standards.

‘The coaches and players of all games will be trained according to the international rules.’ He said the institute would play an important role in the development of sports across the province.
