LAHORE:A case was registered against three police officials for allegedly murdering a citizen in custody in Kot Lakhpat Police Station.
Reportedly, three cops, including an ASI from Nishter Colony Police had tortured a citizen to death after his abduction. The suspected cops identified as ASI Riaz, Ghulam Mustafa and Mubarak Ali had abducted a citizen Javed Iqbal. They tortured him and when his condition deteriorated, they dumped his body into Lahore General Hospital. The victim had died. Police have registered a case against the cops on complaint of son of Javed Iqbal. The body of the victim was moved to morgue.
Two bike thieves arrested
Two members of a bike thief gang were arrested by Johar Town Police on Wednesday. The arrested suspects were identified as Ali Moazam and Arsalan Ahmad. Police also recovered three bikes, cash, illegal weapons and bullets from their custody. They confessed to committing various bids, police said.
Two women hit to death
Two women died after a speeding car hit pedestrians crossing near on Ring Road near Askari-10. Reportedly, the victims were trying to cross road on opposite side of Askari-10 Ring Road towards Airport when a speeding car hit them. The victims fell down and received serious injuries. Nearby passersby alerted Rescue 1122. The teams reached the spot on information. However, the victims had died. Their bodies were handed over to police.
Five die in road accidents
Around five people died, whereas 1,308 were injured in 1,205 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 636 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 672 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
