ISLAMABAD: The caretaker federal government has taken the final decision to remove IG Islamabad Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan and Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon from their posts and there will be no further delay in this regard.

Irfan Nawaz Memon is a Grade 19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service while D. Akbar Nasir Khan is a Grade 20 officer of the Police Service.

In the letter sent by the Election Commission of Pakistan to the Secretary Establishment Division on October 26, it was directed to remove the IG and the Deputy Commissioner from their posts, but the directive was not implemented by the federal government. But now there has been progress in this regard and the Ministry of Interior has written a letter to the Establishment Division to change them.
