PTI activists arrested in Shangla

ALPURI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf district president Liaqat Yousafzai along with several other workers and activists was arrested for violation of Section 144 on Tuesday.

The PTI activists were going to attend a meeting at Kana tehsil when the police arrested them and shifted them to Karora Police Station.The local leaders of various political parties, including Niaz Khan of Pakistan People’s Party, Mutawakil Khan advocate of Awami national party, District Bar Association president Jawad Ali advocate, elders and netizens have condemned the arrest of PTI activists.

They said that the Election Commission of Pakistan must take notice of the duplicity of district administration and pre-poll rigging.They alleged that the district administration had allowed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to hold a public meeting in Chakesar while the PTI was disbanded to organise the same.

They asked the ECP to ensure provision of level playing field to all the political parties so they could carry canvassing for the upcoming general elections.
