IIUI ranked among top 100 in QS World Subject Rankings
Islamabad:In a ground-breaking achievement, the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), has secured a position in the prestigious QS World Subject Rankings, placing 51-100 for Theology, Divinity, and Religious Studies. The university's spokesperson, Nasir Farid, emphasized the institution's unwavering commitment to Islamic values and character, which has been pivotal in this remarkable recognition.
Farid highlighted the significant strides made in aligning academic programs with Islamic principles, resulting in improved quality and standards. The university's dedication to subjects such as Usuluddin, Shariah, Arabic, and Islamic Economics contributed to this global acknowledgment.
Moreover, IIUI stands out as the leading institution in Pakistan for subject-based religious studies, earning the top spot in national rankings. Education Minister Syed Madad Ali Sindhi commended IIUI for its role in promoting Arabic language and urged other universities to emulate its vision.
The spokesperson underscored IIUI's commitment to peace and inclusivity, citing the Paigham e Pakistan initiative by the Islamic Research Institute. This narrative aims to discourage terrorism and has received acclaim both nationally and internationally.
IIUI's engagement with international collaborations was emphasized, with over 1600 international students from 30 countries currently enrolled. The university's alumni network spans more than 50 countries, reflecting its strong international character.
Saudi Arabia's generous financial support, totaling 4.7 million dollars in the previous fiscal year and ongoing commitments for 2023-24, was highlighted. Noteworthy projects include the construction of the King Salman bin Abdul Aziz grand mosque and the establishment of language/interpretation labs.
In the academic realm, seven IIUI faculty members achieved recognition in the 'World Ranking Top 2% Scientists' list for 2023, solidifying the institution's global standing. The spokesperson also noted the significant progress in infrastructural development under the leadership of IIUI President H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi.
As the university continues to prioritize Islamic values and academic excellence, plans for special Arabic-based courses for Quran comprehension for the general public were announced, demonstrating IIUI's commitment to spreading the message of peace and love for humanity.
