ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi Monday approached the Supreme Court (SC) for seeking bail in the cipher case.
He filed an appeal against the Islamabad High Court (IHC) verdict, rejecting his bail application in the cipher case.
The PTI vice chairman said in his appeal that a baseless case had been lodged against him with regard to the cipher issue with mala fide intention as well as for political gains. He submitted that the IHC did not examine the facts and law before rejecting his bail application. He contended the FIR was lodged against him in the cipher case without taking into consideration the legal aspects. Qureshi prayed to the apex court to declare the IHC verdict null and void and grant him bail in the cipher case in the interest of justice.
