ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday directed for fixing in the open court identical petitions challenging the forceful deportation of Afghan nationals from Pakistan.
Justice Yahya Afridi, while allowing the chamber appeals filed against the Registrar’s office objections on the petitions, ordered for fixing it in an open court.
Former senator and PPP leader Farhatullah Babar and others had filed petitions in the apex court under Article 184(3) of the Constitution against the deportation of Afghan nationals from Pakistan.
The Registrar’s office, however, had returned the petitions after raising objections over it. Later, the petitioners filed chamber appeals against the Registrar’s office objections. On Monday, Justice Yahya, after rejecting the objections of the Registrar’s office, ordered to fix the matter in an open court.
