LAHORE: Amjad Khan Niazi, a former Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was arrested from Mianwali.
In a statement, he said he was surrendering to get justice as cases against his were false. According to the police, two cases of arson and vandalism have been registered against him on May 9 and 10.
Niazi was wanted in the cases of vandalizing the office of a sensitive institution and burning a model ship. The police said that he will be produced in the special anti-terrorism court tomorrow.
On the other hand, former PTI ticket holder Barrister Khalid Nisar Dogar was also arrested by the police from Borewala. According to the police, Khalid Nisar has been charged with clashing with the police in the May 10 protest and more than 100 PTI workers have also been named in the case. The police said that terrorism and other provisions are included in the case against Khalid Nisar. According to the police, the accused has been arrested on a tip-off.
