NOWSHERA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) provincial President Amir Muqam on Sunday said that he backed the demand of the ones calling for the level-playing field for the next general election.

He was addressing a gathering at Akora Khattak, where Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader Pir Zulfiqar Bacha announced joining the PMLN along with his family members and supporters.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and former governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Captain (retd) Mohammad Safdar, former Member Provincial Assembly Ikhtiyar Wali and others were also present on this occasion.

Amir Muqam said that Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was dreaming about becoming the prime minister.

“There is no harm in day-dreaming. It is up to the people of the country to decide through the power of their vote,” he added.

He expressed the hope that the PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif would become the next prime minister, adding that the people would vote for his party in the next general election slated for February 8 next year. He said that only the PMLN leadership could steer the country out of the prevailing crises. He maintained that it was Nawaz Sharif who made Pakistan the first nuclear power of the Islamic world and built motorways.

He said that the Nawaz Sharif government had stabilized the economy and had ended loadshedding. He said that the PMLN government defeated the terrorists and restored peace in the country.

Nawaz Sharif established the industrial estate in Nowshera and would serve the people again with devotion after coming into power, he went on to add.

Amir Muqam said that the PMLN had completed several projects in its last tenure. “Several mega projects were completed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the PMLN government. However, the so-called Tabdeeli government of PTI halted the development process,” he added.

No mega projects were initiated during the 10-year long government of PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.
