Community school teachers want jobs regularised
BARA: The teachers of the community schools in the Khyber tribal district on Sunday asked the government to regularize their jobs and release their pending salaries.
They said that they had not received salaries for the last two years. Talking to reporters here, Community Schools Teachers Association President Haji Gul Afridi and General Secretary Muhammad Umar said that the government set up community schools in Khyber district in 1995.
They said that the government had not regularized the jobs of the teachers over the last 28 years. They claimed that the clerical staff was regularized 10 years ago.
“We have not received salaries for 28 months,” Haji Gul said. He said the teachers performed duty under unfavourable circumstances. He demanded the provincial government to release their salaries and order the regularisation of their jobs.
