LAHORE:More than 19,000 challans have been issued to underage drivers across the province, including Lahore during the last one week.
As per spokesperson for Punjab police, more than 81,000 underage drivers were issued fine tickets in all the districts of the province during the current year. More than 2,100 cases were registered against underage drivers. At least 3,500 motorcycles/vehicles were impounded in the police stations. IG Punjab said that legal action would be taken against parents who give cars and motorcycles to underage drivers. He directed the RPOs, DPOs, District Traffic Police officers to strengthen the crackdown against underage drivers without discrimination.
