LAHORE:Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF), in a press statement issued on Friday demanded that the sanitation workers should be given the right to form unions.
PWF General Secretary Ch Saad said that the Article 17 of the Constitution of Pakistan and Chapter 2 article 3 (a) of the Industrial Relations Ordinance 2002 also guarantees that the workers have the right to form or join unions of their choice.
He added that usually in our society, the unions are not considered something healthy and useful. The employers considered that unions caused problems and troubles for them. He said this notion needs to be corrected, as unions are the voice and representation of the workers.
