IG orders quick solution to citizens’ problems

LAHORE:IG Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar held an open court at the Central Police Office on Friday and issued orders of quick relief after listening to the problems of the citizens, including police personnel and their families.

He said that open court is being held on a daily basis in the Central Police Office for the relief of citizens and employees. IG Punjab sought reports from the supervisory officers of various districts and ordered to resolve the complaints of the citizens as per the SOPs without delay. He said that all the DPOs should immediately solve the applications of the citizens sent by the Central Police Office under their supervision and send reports.

In the open court, IG Punjab issued orders on applications related to recruitment on family quota, health welfare, admin, discipline and welfare affairs of the employees. He said that only by solving the problems of police employees we can demand good performance from them.

Over Rs21 lakh released for cops’ treatment

IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has released funds of more than Rs21 lakh for the treatment of seven officials and their families. IG Punjab said that Rs2.5 billion were spent on the health welfare of the force this year and Rs3 billion will be spent next year.

According to the details, ASI Masood Elahi of Okara Police was given Rs05 lakh for the kidney transplant of his daughter. Ghulam Mustafa of Rahim Yar Khan was given Rs05 lakh for the treatment of tumor in his son's leg. Lahore Police Head Constable Asad Abbas and staff member from Chung College M Boota were given two and a half lakh rupees each for treatment.

Constable M Azam and wife of late Head Constable Abid Ali were given two and a half lakh rupees each for cancer treatment. Head Constable Shahid Saleem was given Rs125 thousand for the treatment of his wife.

Foolproof security

On the instructions of IG Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar, Punjab Police ensured foolproof security arrangements of mosques, Imambargahs and other religious places throughout the province for juma prayers.

IG Punjab said that in view of the current security situation, the police should remain very vigilant, keep a close watch on the suspects. The teams of Dolphin Squad, PRU, Elite Force, Police Stations conducted effective patrolling around places of worship, important places and cities.
