LAHORE:The caretaker chief minister has issued a directive to initiate a crackdown on underage drivers operating vehicles and motorcycles without a licence throughout the province.
Mohsin Naqvi instructed that measures be taken against underage drivers who are found driving without a proper licence. The IGP, CCPO Lahore, and all RPOs have been given explicit instructions to enforce this crackdown. The CM directed a daily report of actions taken to be submitted from all regions, including Lahore. The CM underscored the inherent dangers posed by young drivers not only to themselves but also to others on the road. In emphasising the value of every life, Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the potential fatal consequences that could arise from even a small mistake made by a young driver.
Meanwhile, City Traffic police will not only register cases against underage drivers but also take action against those who give cars and motorcycles to underage drivers. As per CTO Lahore, cases will also be registered against those drivers who do not have driving licences. Meanwhile, CTO Lahore issued show cause notices to the in-charges of Mozang, Ichhra, Kot Lakhpat, Kahna, Niaz Baig and Raiwind traffic sectors.
