RAWALPINDI/TANK/PESHAWAR: Security forces killed four terrorists, including a High Value Target (HVT), in an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in Peshawar while a soldier was martyred in another operation in Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday.
The IBO was conducted in general area, Badaber, Peshawar District, on reported presence of terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said.
Troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and sent four terrorists to hell, including a High Value Terrorist (HVT), commander Samiullah alias Shenay, terrorist commander Salman alias Ahmed, Imran alias Muhammad and Hazrat Umar alias Khalid, who were wanted by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities, including extortion and target killings in the area. In another operation conducted in general area Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan District, after intense exchange of fire with terrorists, Lance Naik Muhammad Ejaz Khan (age 34 years, resident of Bagh, Azad Kashmir), having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat.
Sanitization of the surrounding areas is being carried out to neutralize any other terrorists found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, the ISPR said.
Meanwhile, a policeman was martyred when unknown terrorists opened fire on him here at the Nadra office on Thursday.
According to a police spokesman, a police constable, Waris Shah, deployed on security duty at Nadra office, was shot dead by unknown terrorists riding a motorcycle.
Meanwhile, terrorists, armed with sophisticated weapons and hand-grenades, attacked a police checkpoint in the Domel area of Bannu district. However, police effectively repelled the attack.
