JI to contest general polls with symbol of ‘Tarazoo’
RAWALPINDI: Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Liaquat Baloch has said that JI will take part in general elections on the symbol of ‘scale’ (Tarazoo), saying that work on nomination of candidates and central parliamentary board in light of suggestions of districts and provinces has been completed.
Liaquat Baloch expressed these views while addressing an important meeting of JI Punjab regarding elections 2024 held in Qurtaba City Conference Hall near Rawalpindi on Thursday. Northern Punjab Ameer Dr. Tariq Saleem was also present on the occasion.
Baloch said that the policy of taking part in the general elections under JI symbol of Tarazoo has been appreciated by JI in workers as well as external circles.
He said now JI’s political activity and election campaign would be seen everywhere, advising the office-bearers and party workers should support candidates of their respective constituencies. He further said that parliamentary board and central forums have been empowered regarding implementing practically political policy and strategy.
Provincial Secretary General Iqbal Khan, President political committee Dr. Mubashar Ahmed Siddiqui, Naib Ameer province Hafiz Tanvir Ahmed, Qazi Muhammad Jameel, President Electoral Committee Rassal Khan Babar, Secretary political committee Awais Aslam Mirza, Secretary Electoral Committee Dr. Imran Faraz and Naib ameers and presidents of electoral committee from across the province participated.
Baloch said that JI is a public and democratic movement and it also remains in contact with other political and religious of the country. He said they wanted to transform Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state.
Dr. Tariq Saleem said that nomination process of candidates in Islamabad and other 13 districts of Punjab have been completed while they have also fixed dateline for other some constituencies, saying the whole process would be completed by November 22.
