LAHORE: In the light of directions from caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister for Mines & Minerals and Chief Secretary Punjab, Resource Rationalisation Exercise has been completed in Mines & Mineral Department.
A spokesperson informed that Department of Mines & Minerals, Director General Mines, Chief Inspector of Mines and Managing Director ‘Punjmin’ participated in Human Resource Rationalisation Exercise. Secretary Mines and Minerals Punjab Babar Aman Babar has said that around 100 unnecessary posts have been abolished in the department. He said that the Punjab government has also been requested to re-designate 17 posts to improve departmental performance. ‘Transparency and merit strictly followed in the process of making human resources rationalised’, he said.
Meanwhile, Caretaker Minister for Mines & Minerals Ibrahim Hasan Murad expressed the hope that the abolition of unnecessary posts in the department and recruiting only the most essential posts would improve the performance of the department. He said that with this initiative, the unnecessary financial burden on public exchequer would also be reduced.
