LAHORE: New revelations came to light about the accident in which six members of a family, including two minor children lost their lives at the hands of a teenage boy in Defence Phase 7 five days ago.

It was reported that the teenage driver Afnan had clashed with the victims and threatened them before hitting the car. Afnan followed the women sitting in the car from Y Block for a long time. Hasnain, the driver of the victims' car, accelerated the speed of the vehicle several times so that Afnan could give up the chase, but the accused did not give up the chase and continued harassing the women.

On which Hasnain stopped the vehicle and scolded Afnan. Hasnain's father, travelling in another car, also refrained Afnan from harassing the women but he rammed his car into victims’ car at a speed of 160km near McDonald Chowk. After the accident, Hasnain's car fell 70 feet away from the road and all the occupants died. After the accident, four people came to rescue the accused but ran away after seeing the anger of the people. The victim's family said that the police were not cooperating with them in the investigation. It was not a road accident; it was a target killing, the family added. Talking to The News, SP Bushra Nisar said that they were looking into all aspects of the case and the investigation was still ongoing. Responding to a query regarding the insertion of Section 302 PPC in the FIR, she said that the case was still under investigation.

On the other hand, DIG Investigation removed both investigating officers Sub-Inspector Murtaza and Umar from the post due to poor investigation and handed over investigation to DSP Kahna by inserting Sections of terrorism and murder in the FIR.

Meanwhile, the accused moved an application before the Lahore High Court challenging the insertion of Section 302 in the case. The stance taken in the application was that the accused being less than 18 years of age can be tried in juvenile court. As per applicant, Section 302 has been unnecessarily included in the FIR.
