Brave sister

This letter refers to the news story ‘Pakistani teacher awarded global prize for educating indigent children’ (November 9, 2023). It is a matter of pride and honor for Pakistan and the Pakistani diaspora that Sister Zeph received this award from a list of 7000 nominations from 130 countries. Her story is about the courage of one person prevailing against all odds.

Our government should not only facilitate efforts like this which are being recognized worldwide but should also give a national award to this teacher, recognizing her efforts in the face of hardship and immense difficulties. We need to give our full support to brave souls like Sister Zeph in order to take this country forward.
