37 vehicles impounded

LAHORE: Punjab Safe Cities Authority impounded 37 smoke-emitting vehicles from various locations in City.

The spokesperson for PSCA said that the PSCA was preventing crime and also actively contributing to the reduction of environmental pollution. The Authority encouraged citizens to play their part by reporting instances of smog creation in their vicinity through the emergency helpline at 15, he added.

Prisoner dies in hospital

A 42-year-old prisoner of Camp Jail died in the hospital on Tuesday. Jail administration said that Sajjad was imprisoned in a murder case and was suffering from liver disease for several months. He was shifted to hospital due to his critical condition, where doctors confirmed his death. The body was shifted to mortuary.

Two bodies found

The bodies of a woman and a man were recovered from a plastic drum in the area of Nishtar Colony. The victims were subjected to the torture and killed. It was suspected that an old enmity might have led to the killings. The woman was identified as Farzana, a resident of Hafizabad, while the man’s identity was yet to be made. Circumstantial evidences implied that the accused killed the victims somewhere else and later threw their bodies in the Nishtar Colony area. The bodies were shifted to the morgue.

Two car riders injured

Two car riders were injured when their speeding car went out of control and rammed into a pole in Defence B Tuesday. The accident took place near Phase 5 Lalak Chowk in Defence B. The injured identified as Waqas Sohail and Mashhood, residents of Defence Phase 2, were admitted to hospital.

Man found dead

A 45-year-old man was found dead in the limits of Liaqatabad police Tuesday. Some locals spotted the body of a man near PECO Road, Liaquatabad and informed the police. As per police, the victim, yet to be identified, was an addict who might have died of excessive use of drugs. The police shifted the body to the mortuary.
