CTD arrests four ‘robbers’
The Counter Terrorism Department claimed on Tuesday to have arrested four robbers belonging to an interprovincial gang involved in looting people withdrawing cash from ATMs in Sindh and Punjab.
According to CTD incharge Chaudhry Safdar, the suspects, identified Abdus Sattar, Shahid, Qurban Ali and Ashraf, were apprehended in a raid conducted on a tip-off near the Nipa flyover in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and weapons and ammunitions were recovered from them.
The suspects, during the initial interrogation, revealed that they used to rob people coming out of ATMs in different cities of the two provinces. The CTD officer said that the suspects moved from one city to another after committing robberies worth Rs1 million and they had been involved in these crimes for the past many years.
