LAHORE:Commissioner Lahore/LDA DG Muhammad Ali Randhawa visited the under-construction development projects - Controlled Access Corridor on the Band Road and Shahdara flyover - here on Monday.
Randhawa reviewed the achievement of targets as per the timeline and directed to speed up the ongoing works on both the projects. He directed that negligence in sprinkling water on construction works will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He also directed to expedite the removal of all the encroachments around the closed road.
LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed and project team briefed the commissioner and told that 29 percent of Niazi Chowk to Saggian Interchange Package One and 18 percent of Saggian to Babu Sabu Package Two have been completed. It was further told that work on the projects was going on round-the-clock and more machinery and human resources have also been deployed for timely completion of these projects.
Commissioner Lahore said that the implementation of the traffic diversion plan around the development works should be ensured in collaboration with the traffic police. AC Sahibzada Yousaf, officers of LDA and Nespak were also present on this occasion.
Earlier, Randhawa also visited the Shahdara flyover project where LDA Chief Engineer Israr Saeed, contractor and project director briefed him about the details of the project. He was told that finishing work on both bridges of Shahdara flyover was going on day and night and the asphalt work on the ramps of Flyover II is set to be completed. Installation of electric poles was going on and lane-marking work will start in the next 24 hours.
Work is going on day and night on the roads and surroundings of the project, Israr Saeed maintained. Randhawa on this occasion said that the Shahdara flyover project was nearing completion. He directed PHA to speed up horticulture works.
