Informed voters

This refers to the letter ‘Missing element’ (November 11, 2023) by Anas A Khan. It is true that education is the only way to create political awareness. Casting an informed vote requires understanding of the national interests and critical thinking to judge if a political party’s manifesto is aligned with those interests. This critical thinking and understanding develops through education, not through simply understanding the rules of governance.
Social media has opened up news ways for the government to spread political awareness amongst voters more swiftly. The government can make information about social and governance issues easily accessible to the people. This will improve political awareness amongst voters.
