DAO staffer held for killing colleague

SIALKOT: Civil Lines police have arrested an official of the District Accounts Office on the charges of killing his colleague and injuring two others here.
DAO official Usman Shafiq allegedly shot at and injured his colleagues Akram Butt, Muhammad Usman and Tariq Maqsood on the office premises on Wednesday evening and escaped.
The injured people were shifted to a local hospital from where they were referred to a Lahore hospital due to their critical condition. However, Tariq Maqsood died when he and two other injured persons were being shifted to Lahore.
On Thursday, police raided and arrested the accused. A case has been registered. According to police, DAO Employees Union general secretary Usman Shafiq had a dispute with union former president Akram Butt regarding hold of the union.
