LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) Punjab President Rana Sanaullah has said the “PPP is criticising us for its survival”, but it was its right.

While addressing a press conference at the party’s Model Town office on Saturday, Sana said the challenge of filling up the Minar-e-Pakistan ground was given to the PMLN, which it accomplished easily. He said people from all over the country participated in the welcome reception for Nawaz Sharif on October 21, 2023.

He said several disgruntled PMLN members had returned to the party and Sardar Mansab Dogar, Ahmad Raza Manika, Asif Bha, Pir Nizamuddin Sialvi, Farooq Manika, Mian Majid Nawaz and Saeed Khan had expressed confidence in Nawaz Sharif. To a question, he said the PMLN would field its candidate in Chaudhry Nisar Ali constituency also. To another question, he said “Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is our best bold friend”.

Rana Sana said the party faced defeat in some by-elections because of the disgruntled members, but now people sitting next to him would form the next governments in the Centre and provinces.

The former interior minister said the PPP was trying to win the anti-Nawaz vote by lambasting the PMLN. He said PMLN leaders, ticket-holders, office-bearers and workers were clearly told to remain patient over the statements of PPP leaders.

Rana Sanaullah said tough times of the PTI and PMLN should not be compared, as fake drug cases were made against the PMLN. Whereas the PTI chairman was getting facilities of four star or five star hotels in jail.

He said the PMLN would revive the value of Pakistani rupee by ending inflation and lowering the value of dollar after winning elections. He said the failure of Imran Khan project cost the country dearly. He said the PMLN had started preparations for elections; it would succeed in fair and free elections, form governments in the Centre, Punjab and other provinces, and end inflation in the country.

Rana Sanaullah said Nawaz Sharif was scheduled to visit other provinces; he would go to Balochistan next week while the party’s political activities were going on vigorously in Punjab. He said a PMLN delegation had already gone to Sindh for consultations.
