IG orders speedy evacuation of illegal foreigners

LAHORE : An important meeting was held at the Central Police Office to review the process of evacuation of illegal immigrants under the chairmanship of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar on Saturday.

All RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs of the province participated through video link. Senior officers, including Managing Director Punjab Safe City Authority Ahsan Younas, AIG Operations Dr Asad Ijaz Malhi, AIG Admin Amara Athar, were present. All the RPOs and DPOs briefed the IG Punjab about the evacuation of illegal immigrants from their respective districts.

IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar directed all the RPOs and DPOs to speed up the process of evacuation of illegal foreigners. He said that all illegal immigrants should be sent back as soon as possible as per government orders. He directed to continue the process of evacuation of foreign nationals through the help of special branch, CTD, security agencies, and intelligence based information. Illegal resident foreigners should be checked according to mapping, scanning, and screening.

IG Punjab directed that no violation of human rights will be tolerated during the evacuation process. He further said that all regional and district Police Officers should coordinate with the District Administration, concerned agencies for the evacuation process.

Early arrest of bike-riding robbers ordered

IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has directed to ensure the early arrest of the motorcycle-riding robbers involved in the firing and bring the accused to justice. He paid rich tribute to the great sacrifice of Sub-Inspector Rizwan Mehboob, who was martyred by the motorcycle-riding robbers in Zinda Peer, Shadan Lund area of Dera Ghazi Khan.

Thee officers, ASI Iqbal, Head Constable Tahir Saeed and Constable Mazhar Khan were seriously injured in the incident. IG Punjab said that RPO and DPO DG Khan should immediately contact the family of Shaheed Sub-Inspector. He also ordered the best medical care of injured ASI Iqbal, Head Constable Tahir Saeed, and Constable Mazhar Khan. He said that Sub-Inspector Rizwan Mehboob sacrificed his life in the line of duty. Punjab Police will never forget the supreme sacrifice of its brave son. Dr Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police is the guardian force of more than 1,600 brave martyrs like sub-inspector Rizwan Mehboob. He said that the family of the martyr will not be left alone, all their needs will be taken care of.

Upgradation of Khidmat Marakaz top priority

IG Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has said that transfer of all police stations to Special Initiative Police Stations protocol as soon as possible and upgrading of Khidmat Marakaz is the first priority. He said that all RPOs and DPOs should complete the upgrading of all police stations to special initiative police stations within the given period.

He said that after the Special Initiative Police Stations, the Pasban Project will be started and the work of Police Lines Upgradation will also commenced. He said that police infrastructure is being upgraded according to modern policing requirements and benefit of all development initiatives will reach the public in the form of easy and fast service delivery. He expressed these views today while presiding over a meeting about the upgradation of the Special Initiative Police Station at the Central Police Office. All RPOs, CPOs, DPOs of the province participated in the meeting through video link and briefed the IG Punjab about the ongoing work. IG Punjab directed to complete all the works as soon as possible. MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younas, AIG Admin Amara Athar, AIG Rana Shoaib Mehmood attended the meeting. Meanwhile, DPO Nankana Sayed Aziz and his team called on IG Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar at Central Police Office the other day. DPO Nankana Sayed Aziz gave a briefing about the overall performance of Nankana Police during this year under Police Station Diaries. DPO Nankana Saeed Aziz said that during this year, the Nankana police recovered stolen property and cash worth Rs10 crore 84 lakh 33 thousand 693 stolen property from robbers and criminals and handed over to the original owners. 908 cases were registered in the ongoing crackdown against illegal weapons, 39 Kalashnikovs, 104 guns, 67 rifles, 668 pistols, 4 carbines and 6,167 bullets and cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Nankana police arrested 128 accused in 63 murder cases, traced 5 blind murders and sent all accused to judicial custody. 1717 proclaimed offenders and were arrested in the ongoing special campaign against advertising criminals in the country and abroad.173 criminals of 53 gangs were arrested and stolen and cash worth 2 crore 60 lakh 85 thousand rupees was recovered.

In the crackdown against the menace of drugs, 305 kg of charas, more than 9 kg of heroin, 200 grams of opium, 14.941 grams of ice, 8365 liters of alcohol, 10 active alcohol production units and 1630 liters of alcohol were recovered this year. DPO Nankana further said that the 16-year-old abducted girl was safely recovered from Sahiwal district by the City Shahkot police station and culprits were arrested. 715 motorcycles, 12 vehicles, 3 tractors, 1 truck, 1 carry box, 36 other vehicles, 92 tolas of jewelery and 104 stolen cattle were recovered and handed over to the original owners. Under the ongoing measures for the welfare of the force, 174 officers and officials from constable to DSP rank were given departmental promotion according to merit.

On this occasion, Nankana Sikh leader Sardar Surjit Singh Kanwal along with his delegation met the IG Punjab and appreciated the efforts of Punjab Police for providing security to Gurdwaras and providing protection to Sikh pilgrims. Member Peace Committee Prof. Dr Allama Mohib-ul-Nabi Tahir also met IG Punjab and discussed his views regarding the promotion of inter-faith harmony and peace and tolerance in society. IG Punjab appreciated Nankana Police for successfully tracing other difficult cases including robbery, kidnapping and murder. IG Punjab said that the use of modern technology should be continued to protect the lives and properties of the citizens and prevent crimes and public service delivery should be made easier for the citizens with more effective strategy.
