CM orders timely completion of uplift projects

LAHORE: Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued directions to the secretaries concerned to complete the ongoing projects within stipulated time.

He visited Planning & Development Board Office and presided over a meeting in which progress on 43 public welfare preferential projects was reviewed, on Saturday.

The CM monitored the ongoing progress on the 43 projects through the drone footage. Chairman Planning & Development Board Iftikhar Sahu briefed about the physical progress through the drone footage.

Mohsin Naqvi issued directions to the secretaries concerned to complete the ongoing projects within stipulated time. Progress on Shahdara multi grade flyover Imamia Colony overhead bridge, Akbar Chowk flyover and Ring Road Southern Loop was reviewed during the meeting.

A briefing was given about the construction of dual road from the Wahndo Interchange up to Benazir Chowk to link Gujranwala with the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway, construction of Abdullahpur flyover at Faisalabad and construction of road from Gajjumata up to Kasur Ferozepur Road.

The CM expressed his grave concern over sluggishness being shown in the pace of work on the Multan-Shujaabad flyover project and directed to speed up pace of work on the project. Progress with regard to upgradation work of other hospitals including new GOR, Services, Ganga Ram, Lady Willingdon, Mayo and General Hospitals was reviewed during the meeting.

A briefing was given during the meeting about the upgradation work of Lahore Zoo, Safari Park and Safe City Authority projects of Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala and establishment of a Cadet College in Multan, Gujranwala University, restoration of Fort Kohna Qasim Bagh Multan and establishing a park was also reviewed during the meeting.

The participants were given a briefing about PAFDA Laboratory and Bio Gas plants. Fateha was offered for salvation of the soul of Director General Punjab Forensic Science Agency Doctor Muhammad Ashraf Tahir late. The participants paid tributes to the invaluable services of Doctor Muhammad Ashraf Tahir late.

CM remarked that Doctor Muhammad Ashraf Tahir late was an asset and his services in PFSA will always be remembered.

Minister P&D Bilal Afzal, Chief Secretary, SMBR, ACS (Home), Secretaries of various departments and senior officials attended the meeting.

The CM visited Benazir Bhutto Hospital and Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi on Friday night. CM reviewed medical facilities being provided to the patients in the emergency block of Benazir Bhutto Hospital and inquired from the people present at the reception of the emergency block about medical facilities.

Muhammad Nadeem resident of village Pindo Warian of Islamabad appreciated the step of CM Mohsin Naqvi about visiting the hospitals. Muhammad Nadeem while talking with CM said that wherever CM was conducting visits, improvements in the system were surfacing over there and the people were getting substantial relief.

Muhammad Nadeem prayed for the health, long life of CM Mohsin Naqvi and also expressed his good wishes for him. Muhammad Nadeem came to Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi from Islamabad for the treatment of his wife.

CM inspected various wards of the emergency block, inquired after the health of patients and inquired from them about free medicines and free test facility. CM met with the duty doctors and inquired from them about their problems.

CM also met with the doctors of Holy Family Hospital present on their duty at Benazir Bhutto Hospital and lauded them for serving the grief-stricken humanity. He reviewed upgradation work of the Holy Family Hospital during his detailed visit. He inspected the ongoing construction activities in the old building, OPD and various wards of the hospital. CM went to the basement, ground floor and the first floor and directed to speed up construction activities.

Mohsin Naqvi ordered an appropriate drainage arrangement in the basement adding that the waiting area should also be further widened. Mohsin Naqvi directed to undertake effective preventive measures for the equipment and machinery of the hospital along with completing the upgradation work within stipulated time.

CM stated, “We are striving to provide excellent treatment facilities to the common man in the hospitals. I acquire awareness from the ground realities by visiting the hospitals."

He was given a briefing about progress being made on the upgradation work. Commissioner Rawalpindi, MS of both hospitals, Principal and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.

The CM reached Prang, a suburban village of Charsadda, and attended the funeral of Caretaker Chief Minister KPK Azam Khan. Governor KPK Ghulam Ali, Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Maqbool Baqar and other prominent personalities also attended the funeral prayer. CM Mohsin Naqvi met with the family members of late Azam Khan and with Governor KPK Ghulam Ali. He expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolence over the demise of Azam Khan.

CM prayed for the salvation and exaltation of late Azam Khan. CM offered Fateha for Azam Khan. Mohsin Naqvi while paying tribute to Caretaker CM KPK stated that late Azam Khan rendered appreciable and commendable services, adding that the strives of late Azam Khan for the public well-being will always be remembered.

CM in his condolence message expressed his heartfelt sympathy and grief with the heirs of late Azam Khan and stated that he is heartily grieved over the sad demise of Caretaker CM KPK Azam Khan.

The invaluable services of late Azam Khan rendered for the dear homeland and KPK will always be remembered. CM prayed that may Allah Almighty grant fortitude to the bereaved family and grant late Azam Khan an exalted place in Jannah.
