MANSEHRA: The snowfall continued in Kaghan on the second consecutive day on Friday, prompting Rescue 1122 to expand its emergency services to the upper parts of the valley. “We have put our personnel on a high alert to effectively respond to any emergency,” an official of the Rescue 1122, Sami Khan, told reporters.
He said that though the valley had already received the snowfall earlier this year, it was the heaviest one that had blocked the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road to traffic. “Our personnel have been deployed in the Naran and Battakundi area to provide healthcare and other emergency services to tourists in the valley,” Khan said.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Director of Kaghan Development Authority Assad Shahzad Khan told reporters that they were not allowed to proceed ahead to the neighbouring Diamer district of Gilgit-Baltistan beyond the Battakundi to avoid any untoward incident.
