Spoiled meat, coffee seized in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has taken swift action against selling spoiled meat and substandard coffee in the provincial capital.
A handout issued here said that during a recent operation, the authority’s teams executed raids on a butcher’s shop at Jameel Chowk, where they seized over 1,000kg of unfit meat and arrested the butcher.
Simultaneously, another operation targeted a coffee factory in Hazar Khawani area, resulting in the confiscation of over 550kg substandard coffee and imposition of fine on the factory owner.The director general applauded the recent interventions against malpractices, stressing the need for vigilance to curb such activities.
