Assault bid foiled; suspect arrested
LAHORE:Safe City 15 Centre apprehended a suspect on charge of attempting to molest a child. A call reporting an assault attempt on a six-year-old child was received from Chungi the Amar Sadhu area. The caller informed that the suspect attempted to molest his younger brother. Police, responding to the call, reached the spot and arrested the 37-year-old suspect.
17 die in road accidents in 24 hours
Around 17 people died, whereas 1,199 were injured in 1,117 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 617 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 582 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Two swindlers arrested; cash seized
Lahore Police and Safe Cities Authority arrested two suspects who had defrauded a Japanese woman and recovered looted money. According to the details, on Mall Road, the swindlers deprived a Japanese woman of Rs1.2 million cash.
The Japanese woman, Y0ko Ikeki, informed the police. The investigation team traced the accused with the help of Safe City cameras. On the detection of Safe City cameras, two accused were arrested from Gulberg.
The money of the foreign woman was recovered from the possession of the accused persons identified as Daniyal and Qasim. ASP Shehr Bano said investigation was being done by registering a case against the arrested accused.
Four dacoits held
Organised Crime Unit (OCU) Chuhng has arrested four members of an inter-district dacoit gang. The arrested suspects were identified as Sohail alias Saila, Manzoor Ahmad, Muhammad Amir and Zulfiqar.
Police also recovered Rs4.5 million cash, one tractor, a bike and illegal weapons from their custody. Meanwhile, Lower Mall Police arrested a suspect for firing in the air. The suspect identified as Usman would resort to firing in streets, markets. He would also fight with different people and tried to harass him through such tactics.
