BATKHELA: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial President Aimal Wali Khan said on Thursday that the dream of hoisting white flag on the Attock gateway is daydreaming and will never be materialised.
“The general, who dreams of hoisting a white flag on the Attock entrance, is a fake degree holder. No one is daring enough to usurp the integrity of Pakhtunkhwa in our presence,” he said in a reference to General Mobeen, a self-proclaimed “general” and social media influencer of Afghanistan while addressing a public meeting in Baizai in Thana Town.
Mobeen has previously worked as a spokesperson to the Taliban’s police chief of Kabul and has been considered a controversial figure of the Taliban on social media.
ANP candidates for NA-9 Ijaz Ali Khan and PK-23 Izharullah Khan and others also addressed the meeting.
Aimal Wali condemned the statements of General Mobeen and termed him a joker. He said that they accepted only the three colours flag for Afghanistan. People had always been deprived of their genuine democratic rights, he added.
He said that former chief minister Pervez Khattak had overburdened the province with heavy loans and is now striving hard to become chief minister again. He said that his party was fully prepared for the upcoming general elections.
Aimal Wali said the ANP rendered great services for democracy, rule of law, supremacy of the parliament, peace and
provincial rights and no one can make the ANP deviate from its principled stance. The ANP leader asked the party workers to fully prepare for the upcoming general elections and promote the party’s cause in a befitting manner and launch an election campaign.
