Islamabad:As many as 210 individuals have tested positive for dengue fever from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi in the first week of November recording an average of 30 patients per day however the number of patients being tested positive from the region has started showing a consistent decline.
The total number of patients so far confirmed positive from the twin cities has reached 4,755. It is encouraging that so far, the infection has claimed no life from this region of the country this year.
Data collected by ‘The News’ on Wednesday has revealed that to date, a total of 2,331 patients have tested positive for dengue fever from Islamabad Capital Territory while the number of confirmed dengue fever patients reported from Rawalpindi district has crossed the figure of 2,420.
According to District Health Officer Islamabad Dr. Muhammad Zaeem Zia, the number of patients being tested positive from Islamabad is on a continuous decline and the federal capital is even safer now. No reported deaths, however the unreported cannot be ruled out, he said. He is hoping that there would be a complete decline in the number of dengue fever cases from Islamabad Capital Territory in the next two to three weeks.
