Law enforcement agencies continued a crackdown on the 7th day against the illegal immigrants living in Karachi.

On Tuesday, a search operation was conducted by the police for over several hours in Jamali Goth and its surrounding areas of Sohrab Goth. The police shifted several suspected illegal immigrants to the Sohrab Goth SP office, where a special desk was set up to verify the documents of more than a thousand suspected illegal migrants.

The police teams surrounded the area. The operation was conducted against illegally residing foreign nationals, and during the operation, more than a thousand suspected individuals were brought to the SSP office. All individuals under custody were being biometrically checked there.

A Nadra desk has been set up at the SSP office, and after verification, illegally residing individuals will be taken to the holding camp. Prior to the operation, all internal and external routes of the area were sealed. The checking process, including house-to-house searches, involved the participation of vigilant police officers.

Those found undocumented were sent to the holding centre, while those with proper and complete documents were released after verification. Migrants obtained verification of their documents in a cooperative manner.

There are around 30 Afghan migrants are present in at Sultanabad’s Holding Centre -- six women, four men and 20 children. During the last six days, 452 aliens have been sent back through the Chaman border, while 142 more have been sent via five buses.
