ISLAMABAD: A delegation from the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC), led by Phil Romas, Deputy Speaker, New York State Assembly, called on the Leader of the House in Senate, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar Monday at the Parliament House.
During the meeting, various topics including the proposal to declare New York State and Punjab as sister states were actively discussed, highlighting the desire for a stronger partnership. Moreover, the delegation and Senator Dar explored opportunities for collaboration in several critical areas, including education, health, and trade.
One significant topic of conversation focused on improving healthcare facilities in Pakistan and potential initiatives to ensure that Pakistani-Americans have access to healthcare services when visiting or residing in Pakistan. Dar welcomed these discussions and assured that efforts would be made to address these concerns effectively.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with all parties emphasising the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration to strengthen the bonds between the State of New York and Punjab, as well as to benefit the Pakistani-American community. The deputy speaker and Senator Dar expressed their commitment to furthering these discussions and working together to achieve common goals.
