Suspect wanted in murder cases arrested
LAHORE:Punjab Safe Cities Authority, in collaboration with the police, executed a significant operation resulting in the arrest of a murder suspect.
The accused, Azam, was wanted in multiple homicide cases investigated by Raiwind police. SP Abdul Hanan emphasised the pivotal role of Safe City cameras in identifying criminals and reducing crime. He urged citizens to promptly report any suspicious individuals or activities to the emergency hotline at 15.
Girl found, handed over to family
The Lost and Found Centre of Punjab Safe Cities Authority reunited three-year-old girl with her family here on Monday. Noor Fatima was missing. Her family reported at 15 Helpline. Lost and Found Centre received a call from a found girl on 15. The Punjab Safe Cities Authority Lost and Found Center reviewed both complaints. After comparing both calls, the centre confirmed the girl and delivered her to her family with the help of the relevant police station. The PSCA centre contributed to reuniting more than 610 missing persons so far.
Prisoner dies in hospital
A 33-year-old inmate of Camp Jail died under suspicious circumstances during treatment in a hospital. The deceased has been identified as Niamat. A case of dealing in drugs was registered against him in Hadiara Police station. He had been detained in the case. On the day of the incident, his condition deteriorated and was shifted to a nearby hospital where he but could not survive. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy.
Man shot dead
A man was shot dead in a hotel in Ghalib Market. Two groups clashed near Sherpao Bridge over stake money on a cricket match. They initially exchanged harsh words which led to firing between them. As a result, a man was killed, who has not been identified until filing of this report.
Four robbers held
Four alleged robbers were arrested in two different incidents here on Monday. Ichhra police arrested two suspected robbers and seized six bikes and illegal weapons. The arrested suspects were identified as Faheem and Faraz. Police recovered six bikes and illegal weapons from their custody, SHO said. In another incident, Investigations Police Kahna arrested two suspected robbers. They were identified as Muhammad Boota and Ramzan. Police recovered Rs60,000 in cash, mobile phones, watches and illegal weapons.
